JOIN GSPRA: The Voice for Public Education in Georgia

If you speak for a Georgia public school community—whether your title says communications, public relations, community engagement, or superintendent—you belong here. GSPRA is the statewide home for people who do this work. Chartered in 1973, we exist so no school communicator in Georgia has to figure it out alone.

GSPRA provides members an excellent opportunity to network with other educational public relations professionals throughout Georgia, as well as those individuals who have public relations as a secondary part of their job function. Regional meetings, statewide conferences, and the availability of numerous communication resources offer members an opportunity to learn the latest techniques to strengthen education through effective communications.

Benefits

When you join, you plug into a network of practitioners who already know the terrain: school supports, late-night media calls, crisis drafts, and the quiet work of building trust. Here is what members use most:

The GSPRA Listserv. Ask a real question on a real deadline and hear from peers who have already written the statement, booked the photographer, or briefed the board. Same challenges. Same victories. Faster answers.

Professional development and recognition that fits the school calendar. Timely resources, expert insight, and learning opportunities throughout the year—not just one weekend in the fall.

A community that lifts the field. New to the role or twenty years in, you get colleagues who will share a template, talk through a sticky parent issue, and celebrate the wins no one outside this job quite understands.

Peer Recognition of Your Work:  GSPRA Publications and Peach Awards
GSPRA sponsors evaluation and awards competitions to help members strengthen technical skills. The publication and electronic media awards and Peach awards competition helps members improve their school publications, photographs, websites and other electronic communications. Emphasis is placed on proper writing style and basic design techniques.

Through state conferences, regional activities, our online community, and web site, you're always in touch with our members. Become part of this network today!
